In the rapidly evolving world of coworking spaces, YoCo stands out with its unique blend of style, functionality, and individuality. At the helm of this innovative venture is Managing Director, Yusuf Oner, whose deep-rooted experience in the industry has shaped YoCo’s distinct identity. “Launching YoCo right before the pandemic presented challenges, but it also offered an unmatched opportunity for strategic planning and establishing a strong foundation,” Oner reflected on the company’s inception.

The challenge

With the end goal of creating a “coworking network” all under the YoCo name, Oner opened the first four YoCo locations in just four years and suddenly found himself with multiple operating systems – a different system at each location. The plan is to expand the brand by adding 26 more centers by 2027; a stretch goal for some, but Oner is confident in his own capabilities as well as the capabilities of his teams. Under this model though, having different operating systems for each location just wouldn’t be feasible. While Oner’s vision is that each separate location will be its own entity – its own theme and its own brand – they will all be managed under the YoCo umbrella.

Managing various coworking spaces while maintaining separate, unique identities posed a significant challenge. Oner recalled, “Before OfficeRnD, aligning our different locations under one operational system was a formidable task.” From the management perspective, they also needed to consider dashboards and analytics that would help make business decisions and manage performance across all locations. From the members’ perspective, Oner and his team also wanted their users to know exactly what they could expect from each location and empower members to self-service.

With over 12 years of experience opening coworking spaces worldwide, Oner had familiarized himself with other coworking management systems and had experienced first-hand some of the weaknesses those platforms pose. Whether a niche platform that didn’t suit their business needs or a clunky system that required IT intervention, Oner knew what it was that he did not want for his own business. Upon heavy research of different coworking management software, Oner ultimately decided OfficeRnD Flex was the best fit.

These integrated systems and processes pose less margin for error and make processes more seamless. As any involved founder would be, Oner is also highly in tune with the analytics behind the organization. He stated, “There are certain metrics and reports that we look at daily, or at least weekly, just to track the business’s performance and forecast where we’re going and how we’re trending.”
